New Year New Me

Blogging is something I never thought about doing before! During end of 2011, when my church stared this new 212 initiative where everyone was encouraged to live a radically generous life, a huge change began to take place in me. I decided to really take a look at my life and see where and how I could grow to be, not only who God wanted me to be, but who I wanted to be. I turned up the heat on my spiritual life, and because of that, my eyes were opened. I have always had a passion for photography for as long as I can remember. I even took photography classes in high school. It seems now that God has opened my eyes to His beautiful world.  I have decided to pursue this hobby - this passion of mine.
Back in 2010, I decided to enter some of my photographs into the home arts contest at the Maryland State fair to be judged.  I won several ribbons including second place for a picture of my friend's granddaughter, Chelsea on the beach and first place for a picture of my grandson,Ryan, at the park. The picture of my grandson also won the highest award for photography at the fair that year. Here are the two photos that won.

Last year, I took a continuing education photography class through CCBC and I liked it. However, it was very basic. I really want to learn as much as I can, so I began to ask my photography friends how they got their education. I set up an appointment with the head of the photography department at CCBC.  Then I enrolled in a 3 credit very detailed 12 week class that starts the end of this month and continues until mid May. I must say God has given me the vision and desire to take my talent as far as I can.   My goal is to use this blog to share some of my photos with you and to encourage those of you who are reading this to give me your feed back both negative and positive! I hope you enjoy seeing me through this journey as much as I enjoy sharing it with you.

Before I end my first blog, I want to share another photo that I took this past Fall of my grandchildren right outside my front door. This is one of my favorite photos!

There is so much for me to learn and I am ready, willing and able. I hope you have enjoyed my fist blog and the pictures I have shared with you! Until next time, keep smiling because you never know when you will be part of someone's candid camera!
